Pro Hac Vice Representation (pronounced “proh hock vee-chay” - prep. Latin for "this time only") refers to the application of an out-of-state lawyer to appear in court for a particular trial, even though he/she is not licensed to practice in the state where the trial is being held. The application is usually granted, but sometimes the court requires association with a local attorney.
Terry is available to assist local counsel or parties in difficult or contested guardianship or conservatorship cases where local circumstances may warrant counsel with skill, experience, or perhaps a certain perspective not available on the local level. Pro Hac Vice representation may also be considered when local circumstances may cause the parties’ concern about bias or prejudice toward a particular party or perspective.
